Do I live under a rock or something? I can just picture you ladies shaking your heads, YES! But for those that live under the same rock that I do, you NEED to take a look at this site. Now I know that some of the items on this site are still a bit pricey, but the products have that same vintagey type feel as you might see from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware (which we all know we can't buy a damn thing from because those people think we are made out of money! Not happening people.....). I love the vintage look, and I'm basing the majority of my house around that look while also adding in some glam (gold and silver) in various small areas.

Note: This was the first site where I was able to buy something for literally about $1.73 WITH SHIPPING!! I was totally shocked, as that never happens! If you have been able to buy a decoration for your house for $1.73 with shipping please let me know what it was because I have to say it was a momentous occassion for me! I felt like I should celebrate after I clicked Order. Here was what I purchased:

It is a Pearl Topiary and it is going to be a really nice touch in my guest bathroom. Plus, why wouldn't I get something for $2? I'm not crazy! Do you see the mixture of the silver and gold on the base? That look is in various spots around my house. It looks almost worn and used, which is also very much my style!

Right now Home Decorators is having a 20% off sale of their Outlet items until EOD tomorrow, so get on that! This item in particular is in that section as well, but it's sold out, so I guess you can't copy me :) Ohhhhh weellll. I'll be the only person in the world with a $2 pearl topiary haha

Okay, let's compare these two products from Home Decorators and Pottery Barn so you can see exactly what I mean what I say that this site is the best thing since sliced bread. Here is a beautiful leather couch from Pottery Barn:

Ohhhhhhhh, Ahhhhhhhhhh. Beautiful couch, but oh wait, how much does that say? I better be seeing this wrong! $2,799!? I just chocked on my chocolate flavored Teddy Grahams (I'm really eating those). I know for a nice leather couch you may think that price doesn't sound too nuts, but why would I buy this when I can get this:

For $999! Are you kidding me, you ask? Hellll no! I don't kid about good deals. If anyone knows me well, which soon you will, you'll know that deals are something I take very seriously! This couch has a few more embellishments but I think it adds a nice touch and decorative flavor. You can't beat that price!

Back so soon!? Yes sir! Because I had to share this great steal with you! It's what I do :) So the back story is I am currently designing mine and my boyfriend's new house that we recently had built. We just moved in a few months ago and we are LOVING it! Of course we are starting from scratch with all the furniture and designs, but it really gives us the chance to express ourselves and take our time to perfect the house of our dreams. Here's a snapshot!! This was our first and only snow of the season:



So as you can imagine I am on the hunt for bargains all over the place! I like to call my style old world traditional. We love items that look like they could have been used in the past (I think the term is "back in the day"). This is one store that we both adore. Everyone knows they have beautiful items! So let's take this item for example:

These are chalkboard tags that allow you to label just about anything! I always liked these for place settings! You can write a person's name on them and use them again and again and again and...well you get it! But $22.50 for 4? Ummmm I need 10 for my dining room table! I guess it ain't cheap to tell people where they are sitting. Until I found these:

Hallelujah! I found these puppies on Etsy.com! The beauty of it was there were listings for 8 of these and 12 of these for purchase, so I reached out to the seller of these items and let her know kindly that I loved her product and needed just 10. She happily obliged and created a whole new listing for me to buy 10! The best part was they were only $25 for 10! I received them the other day and they came out beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend these if you like a similar look.

And I lived happily ever after with my chalkboard tags, and we danced into the sunset. A romantic ending, huh? Well all my guests will get that romantic feeling too when they come to eat at my house with this beautiful touch!

Welcome!!

So here it is! The first blog post for My ChiChi Baby! I hope you are as excited as I am, which would explain my extreme use of exclamation points! For some reason I type just as I talk, which means over the top! Ok, I'll try to cool it....

I wanted to start this blog for the every day women and moms just trying to be fabulous and save a pretty penny at the same time. I know I fit into that category, as I'm sure most other women do as well. Just because I want to save money, doesn't mean that I don't want myself or my family to live a ChiChi life!

What does ChiChi mean, you ask? Well if you were to look up this term in the dictionary, you would see that it is another way of saying Chic. But I'm sure I don't have to tell you ladies that. If you're reading this I can likely assume you are a life time member of the ChiChi club too :) VIP that is!

For my first order of business, I would like to explain the nature of my ecommerce site, www.mychichibaby.com. Make sure to check it out!
